kites india

On August 15 we celebrate the independence of the sovereign nation of India. In 1947 after decades of struggle for independence from British Empire, India finally achieved by implementing democracy.

The festivities begin in New Delhi with the raising of the flag from the Prime Minister at the Red Fort. Also in this ceremony, delicious candies are distributed among the attendees.

A tradition that has for years is that of flying kites. It's really beautiful to see the sky covered with thousands and thousands of comets. Children and adults, without distinction of participating in this particular celebration, in an atmosphere of revelry and joy.

Ganesha hopefully give us a beautiful day to celebrate this great date for the country.

Guru Purnima

Here are some beautiful Ganesha wallpapers to celebrate Guru Purnima
Guru Purnima is a festival traditionally celebrated by Hindus and Buddhists. On this day, disciples offer puja (worship) or pay respect to their Guru (Spiritual Guide). It falls on the day of full moon, Purnima, in the month of Ashadh (June–July) of the Shaka Samvat, Indian national calendar and Hindu calendar. Traditionally the festival is celebrated by Buddhists in the honor the lord Buddha who gave His first sermon on this day at Sarnath, Uttar Pradesh, India. While Hindus celebrate it in the honour of the great sage Vyasa, who is seen one of the greatest gurus in ancient Hindu traditions, and a symbol of Guru-shishya parampara, the Guru disciple tradition. Vyasa was not only believed to be been born on this day, but also to have started writing the Brahma Sutras on ashadha sudha padyami and ends on this day, hence their recitations as a dedication to him, are organised on this day, which is also known as Vyasa Purnima.

God Ganesha Wallpaper

Ganesha's head represents the soul that would be the ultimate supreme reality of human existence, and his body symbolizes the earthly existence of human beings. The head represents wisdom and its trunk represents Om, which is the sound symbol of the reality of the cosmos. Ganesha is a thorn in the upper right, which helps to push men forward in its eternal path and remove obstacles. Ganesha has his right hand in a noose to capture all difficulties.

Elephant head of Ganesha

Saturday, June 11, 2011 0 comments
There are many stories about Ganesha's head. One story tells that Shiva cuts of his head and then Shiva restored Ganesha to life but with a elephant head because it was the only one available. But other story tells that Ganesha's head was burned when Saturn is forced by Parvati to look at her child and bless him. The elephant part of Ganesha represents the unmanifested great being. Therefore the elephant part is the head.

Ganesh Wallpaper

God Ganesha is represented by many images through the years and we can find many variations in the way that he is shown.
This Ganesh wallpaper shows him in a picture with the head of an elephant, his four arms and of course his big belly.

Ganesha emerged as a deity among the centuries IV and V a. C., during the Gupta Empire. His popularity grew and was included among the five principal deities of Smartism in the ninth century. The Ganapatya cult members who worship him as their deity, arose during this period. The principal scriptures dedicated to Ganesha are the God Ganapati Atharvasirsa, the Ganesha and Mudgala Puranam Puranam.

Looking at all the images of Ganesh found here, we note that there is some symbolism in it. I hope you enjoy these Ganesh wallpapers.

While it is not always the same, in most cases God has 4 hands. In each of them takes any object, which can vary:

In the first arm carries a rope, to lead his devotees (like cattle) to the path of Truth.
The second hand holds a hatchet to cut the ties perishable of devotees.
The third hand holds a laddu (candy made with chickpea flour, fried butter, condensed milk and dried fruit) to reward devotees for their spiritual activities.
The fourth hand is always extended to give blessing to his devotees.
