hi,
my parents will be travelling to the US in a couple of months, and I was looking for health insurance for them. Based on various forums, looks like US companies are preferable to insurance bought from india (and as per forums, ICICI lombard seems to have the most negative reviews among the indian firms).
Anyways - has anyone used insu buy .com to buy medical insurance for their parents, and had to make a claim? They seem to be an insurance broker -- so the insurance company will be a third party, but they (insu_buy) seems to claim that they will also help out with claims in case of any issues.
Anyone have any experience buying + claiming insurance via ? (and if so, what was the insurance company that sold the claim via ?)
I searched immigration voice forums for "insu buy" but though there are many threads about medical insurance for parents, there doesnt seem to be any mention of -- so any experiences shared will be helpful.

One hour in emergency room (just hello and goodmorning) in public hospital cost $1000.Its a capatilist country and they dont care about people and even citizens.If you come to US then dont get ever sick. I know in Canada and UK taxes are high but when you need services NHS and other agencies are always there to help you and protect you. It takes 1000 days in Canada for parents to get PR and after PR they are all eligible to use Canadian free public health system.20000 pages of new Obama's health care reform and it does nothing regarding pre-existing conditions, immigrants,high deductibles and aged US citizens.Even full time employeed people with employer insurance really have to fight very hard to get their insurance pay for necessary medical services in US.Its because all insurance companies are always looking for bogus and false reasons to just deny even ligitimate claims.
I strongly suggest all indians and immigrants to please dont ever grow old or sick in USA otherwise your American dream will give its real nightmare reality.

@krishmunn thanks for your analysis too , i had sent him a bunch of emails about 10 of them and he never responded to them, when i called him about why is he not replying to my emails he said i cannot have any email conversation with you, it did not strike me then why ? but after talking to all the guys here i understand why he said so, i do not know if this would be enough . but i am just preparing my packet to send to DOL

Well i really appreciate your concern and i wish that you were a part of my employers team, but i have my tickets booked and bags packed . I would now empower people from all over the world to come a little more prepared on H1B to US. I admit to being dumb before landing here but i have gotten my much important experience which i will pass on through fake busting.

Same here. Applied for AP. Got a soft LUD on my I-485 on Mar 25, 2009, got my AP approved on Mar 26, 2009. Does this mean they checked my 485 application prior approving my AP? or are they pre-adjucating my application? Will wait for a week or 2 to see if i receive any RFEs.
My PD is EB-3 I, Mar 2004 and no way closer to being current.
I got an LUD on 485 when i got AP approved.
Dont even try to rationalise how the f*** those systems are inter connected and how they roll :o

I suggest that you remove the glass house proverb. It makes the letter look a little unprofessional. Your letter without it is already very effective. Also put the "H1-B workers are illegal" quote (if there was such statement made on his show) at the top while you put across your objection. If such statement wasn't made but implied by the guest on CNN, don't put that in quotes.

But VB disaster was one issue where there was not even the slightest doubt that what had happened was horribly wrong and cruel that even some cold-hearted anti-immigrants were confused for a day or two and didn't know what to say because they didn't want to pile on our heartache. The way CIS works had, like any bureacracy over time become a cold and heartless beast but since they deal mostly with non-citizens who have little rights and feel so unsecure and unwelcome in the first place to ever speak out, they were never going to know how their actions are wreaking havoc on their customers lives. So unless affected people come together and act they are never going to know how bad it sucks to be on this end of the divide. And ofcourse it's not all CIS - they are just an arm of the government carrying out the law. it's going to be next to impossible to do anything without congress stepping in. And while Fragomen is definitely not lying when they say they will work for some relief and probably are given that their partners often show up on congressional hearings, they won't lose sleep over it nor will their passion levels be anywhere near that of those who are directly at the receiving end of this current ugly messi.e iv and it's browsers. That's why it's critical that iv be heard - & not just through flower campaigns. ofcourse bringing together immigrants was always going to be like herding cats but it shouldn't be this hard. give money people!

I know out of 3000 members, atleast 2500 would be looking at some forums in this site and posting some messages. WHy dont we show some single, double, triple,... up to 5 stars next to the username based on the contributions.

I have a valid H1 approval till 2011 and used AP for my previous india visit. Right now i am transfering my H1 to a new company.
I asked my lawyer if i was on H1 status or not? She replied, Unitl you use EAD, i will be on H1B Status.
and also we can transfer our H1 to new company also. thats what i am doing now.

I also got email from CRIS last night stating that my I-129 has been reopened.
I have a very simple immigration history:
I-129 filed and approved April 2005, petition expires 3/30/2008; only ever worked for this same company.
No H-1B extensions ever filed, no H-1B transfers ever done, no previous history of US immigration prior to April 2005.
Labor, I-140 and I-485 were filed November 2006; I-140 approved February 2007, I-485 approved June 2007, EB2 green card arrived June 2007.
There was a LUD on the I-140, in August, but that was about the same time as a bunch of other people got LUDs on cases starting SRC07... seems like I can disregard that.
There was also a LUD on the I-129 without a status change later in August. No explanation for that was apparent.
And now I get a notice on 10/23/2007 saying that the I-129 has been re-opened and that something will happen within the next 30 days. I'll be sure to keep you all updated if I get anything like an actual I-797 notice through the mail.
Did anyone else get anything on October 23rd?
Ok, so we figured it out. The case really has been re-opened... soon after I got the GC, apparently the attorneys wrote to USCIS and informed them that I'd no longer be working for my company in H status but rather in LPR status.
They asked USCIS to withdraw the LCA and the I-129 petition, so it's normal that the case eventually gets re-opened.
We're expected that USCIS will subsequently revoke the original I-129 sometime within the 30 day period that CRIS mentioned.
If anyone else is in the same boat, there's nothing at all to worry about... as long as your current status remains valid.
Any idea why it's important for the attorneys to notify USCIS that I'm no longer a H worker? The petition would expire next March anyway...

I am with you guys too. I know the battle is still not won. Getting EAD and AP is good but having GC is much better especially when you are paying 50% tax (atleast in my case) for no permanent status and the feeling of uncertainty when you visit your folks back home.
